Description
Released by Makerere University Soyabean breeding program, MAKSOY 3N takes an average of 96 days to mature.
Under good management, the variety yields 3-3.5 tones per hectare.
It is large seeded, resistant to soyabean rust, pod shattering and lodging.
It has protein content of 38% and oil content of 19%
Recommended planting is 20kg per acre (50kg per hectare) at a spacing of 60cm by 5cm when using a machine at 1 seed per hole or 50 by 25cm when using hands at 3 seeds per hole.
It is preferred to plant soybean after innoculating it with rhizobium.
